The European Commission has appointed an Egis-led consortium, also comprising Steer, Milieu & TNO, for a four-year framework to provide technical support to Single European Sky (SES) stakeholder groups during a crucial policy period when the recast SES 2+ proposal is being discussed by Council and Parliament.
The technical, legal and economic support that the consortium provides will be delivered to three groups critical to the implementation of SES; the Industry Consultation Body (ICB), the NSA Coordination Platform (NCP) and the Expert Group on the Human Dimension of SES (EGHD).
Consortium lead and Egis Aviation UK CEO Claire Davies comments: “We are delighted to have been reappointed for this important work. We’re looking forward to working with new consortium partners and helping these stakeholder groups develop and deliver high quality technical advice to support the implementation of SES – addressing the critical challenges and opportunities facing Europe’s aviation organisations today and in shaping the future.”
The next few years are likely to present both significant challenges and opportunities for stakeholders, with the recovery from COVID impacts, the European Green Deal goals and looking ahead to the initial implementation of a recast SES framework regulation. We look forward to helping the European Commission to support stakeholders via the groups, which will act as key fora to help navigate the next steps for the SES, as well as the aftermath of the pandemic.
