To support air traffic growth at Tahiti-Faa’a International Airport, the airport operator ADT (Aéroport de Tahiti) has launched a major programme to modernise its airport IT system.
The objective of ADT is to have an efficient management tool for its aeronautical activity, while integrating the multidisciplinary context of skills that constitute the core of its activities. To achieve this goal, ADT must take into account the technical, human and organisational factors that arise from this operation.
The Aviation team of Egis has been working alongside ADT throughout the project, helping with training of airport employees, ensuring business continuity and delivering system change that is imperceptible to airport users. The team has been working closely with airlines and with the solution provider to make sure the system is adapted to the airport’s needs.
The first phase was successfully completed in December 2019, with the implementation, configuration and presentation to ADT’s operational and technical staff of the applications of the new tool. Full implementation of the system is planned for end 2020 and will cover flight planning, graphic allocation of airport resources to the flight schedule, daily monitoring of flights, passenger information and VIP lounge access management, as well as the billing of aeronautical operations and statistics production.
This project to modernise ADT’s airport IT system is intended to become a pilot project in order to define best practices in this type of exercise.
Egis is supporting ADT with this development project, similarly with other projects that are part of a vast programme to modernise the IT systems of the airports in the Egis network.
