UK Research and Innovation has published its Future Flight Challenge report into safety and regulation for the future of aviation in the UK. The initial Aviation Safety Framework looks at how to manage and control the introduction of drones for industrial inspection and freight carrying, as well as autonomous electric-hybrid aircraft and urban air taxis, among other opportunities.

The Egis-lead study, co-authored with the University of York, looks at the most significant challenges for the sector across infrastructure, controls, safety management and human involvement – as well as the first steps and recommendations for the road ahead.
